The organization of this congress envolves several entities, such as Mountain Medicine Portugal, ECDC Portugal and the asociación para la Investigación, Formación y Asistencia Sanitaria en el medio natural (Mountain-Medicine).

The purpose of this congress is the transmission of knowledge in the area of medicine and first aid in canyoning, focusing on essential skills for risk analysis and successful action when facing the first aid approach that occurs in canyoning, until the specialised medical emergency team arrive.

Objectives

To prepare people, canyoning practitioners, non-health professionals and health professionals, who act as responsible and autonomous canyoning practitioners, so that they are able to perform first aid procedures.
After this congress, you should be able to:
• Identify the main risks and dangers in the Canyoning modality
• Perform the initial victim assessment;
• Identify alarm signs that indicate the need for evacuation due to potential vital risk;
• Leading and communicating appropriately in emergency situations;
• Know the guidelines for first aid in Canyoning.
